Dawn Marie Wessley Suicide

Caroline Alphonso is the writer of the article titled Bullies Push Their Victims to Suicide. The main idea of the article is that bullying is a life or death situation. Dawn Marie was from a place called Mission,  B.C. She was so scared of being beaten up that it pushed her to the point that she thought there was no escape and thought that killing herself was the only way out. This is what she said in her suicide note. "If I try to get help, it will only get worse, they are the toughest girls and are always looking for a new person to beat up, but if I ratted they would get suspended and there would be no stopping them."  she killed herself on November 10 by hanging herself in the bedroom with a dog leash. Her younger brother found her there. The two girls that had bullied her were charged and one of them was found guilty. They were both sentenced by the sentencing circle/ justice circle to 18 months of probation. Ms. Wessley found some comfort with another mother who had lost their 14 year old son in March.
